NEV SCHULMAN
CREATOR | ATHLETE | STORYTELLER
Nev Schulman rose to fame after starring in the 2010 documentary Catfish, a groundbreaking look at a then-overlooked aspect of relationships & internet culture: people who create fake identities online.
The film was a global sensation and embedded the term 'catfish' in the modern lexicon, spawning an MTV series of the same name that Nev has now hosted for nine seasons.
A passionate runner and gifted storyteller, Nev uses his athletic pursuits to travel the world and connect with people, believing that the mental benefits of running are just as important as the physical ones. His career has given him insight into what motivates people to escape into fictionalized versions of themselves online; often, it's not malicious intent, but deficient self-esteem. Nev believes running can be an important way for all people to build confidence, achieve meaningful goals and love themselves.
Through his running sponsorship with Under Armour, Nev has participated in a variety of events including the NYC Marathon, the Austin Half Marathon, the Transrockies trail run in Colorado (a three day stage race at 10,000 feet elevation) and the Speed Project Chile relay race.
